Julià Minguillón (he). I am a full-time associate professor in the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) since 2001. My teaching focuses on data mining and visualization. I hold a BSc / Msc in Computer Science (1995 / 1997) and a PhD in Computer Science Engineering (2002), both from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where I was a part-time teacher, until 2006.
Regarding my research, I am a member of the Learning Analytics for Innovation and Knowledge Application in Higher Education (LAIKA). My research interests include:
- Educational Data Mining & Learning Analytics (mostly applied to dropout and enrollment)
- Recommendation systems
- Interactive visualizations and learning dashboards for e-learning
- Wikipedia (gender issues)
